Priyanka Chopra wins again

Skeptics may claim that there are better contenders than Priyanka Chopra to win the best actress award for the films that came last year, but the lady’s position as the numero uno was once again consolidated at the 4th Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild awards 2008 held in Mumbai.

At the function she won the best actress award for her performance in Fashion. Hrithik Roshan was named the best actor for his performance in Jodhaa Akbar.

Priyanka could not attend the event but her father received the award on her behalf. Kangana Ranaut also won the award for ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ for her performance in 'Fashion'. Jimmy Shergill won the Best Supporting Actor award for A Wednesday.

Aamir Khan won two awards - best film and best director - for his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par.

Anil Kapoor got award for ‘Best Performance in a Comic Role’ in Welcome while Akshaye Khanna was named the Best Actor in a Negative role for Race.

Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards, honour excellence in cinema and television. The awards ceremony could not take place last year due to the 26/11 terror attacks.
