Another Singh is ready to woo you with his antics; as Rocket Singh, Ranbir Kapoor is marking this year’s end for Yashraj Films with the movie Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year.

So what’s on your mind when you think about the movie’s musical score because it’s Ranbir plus Shimit Amin and the energetic young musical duo Salim-Suleiman? Hold your horses; there is no marathon of songs here but an album that features just three songs. Thus making a record of sorts as for the first time ever in the history of Yashraj Films something like this has happened.

Yes, mere three in number. Without wasting much time let’s move to the album.

When you first hear Pocket Main Rocket Hai, you wonder if it is an intro number for ‘Rocket Singh’! But soon you realize that the song is a sort of alarm for those who continue to be on spending spree. ‘Beta halke halke, udna sambhal ke’. That’s what Benny Dayal croons in his impressive style. So the album’s ‘rocket’ song has a quick-to-lift tune, spruced with good warbling as well as whistling.

Well, after listening to Pocket Main Rocket, the next song Gadbadi hadbadi in the voice of Vishal Dadlani disappoints a bit because as soon as the track starts you know that it is a song that is quite similar to Salim-Suleiman’s previous track from the movie Luck. Otherwise an average number that doesn’t offer you much but doesn’t even bore you.

As Salim Merchant belts out the zippy Pankhon Ko, the sunny, supple tone of the song takes you over and then there is Jaideep Sahni’s simple yet moving lyrics, Uljhe nahin to kaise suljhoge, bikhroge nahin to kaise sanwaroge. Feeling free-spirited!

The album comes to end on a positive note. It seems that a story-line runs through it - the first song was peppy; the second appeared more of a situational track symbolic of confusion and chaos of a normal human life, and the last one sets you free.

Not bad, but yeh dil mange more!
