For an avowed vegetarian, there are little options to pamper the taste buds particularly in a place like Bangkok where everything from exotic sea food to roasted bugs and beetles are served on a platter.

Little surprise then that Shahid Kapoor, who was voted the sexiest vegetarian male in Asia, has had fewer options to choose from the restaurant menus while shooting director Parmeet Sethi’s debut film with co-star Anushka Sharma in Bangkok.

Until one day someone in the film’s unit suggested him to try vegetarian Sushi, the Japanese dish which otherwise has a topping of fish.

Once Shahid tasted the veggie version of the dish, the actor loved it so much that he’s been hooked to it ever since. Now, after the day’s shoot, Shahid reportedly rushes to Bangkok restaurant Esao to savour veg sushi.

Normally, Shahid prefers to have desi food but Sushi is now one of the foreign dishes he’s grown a liking to. He also loves to eat lasagna.
