The Bachchans have every reason to smile and be optimistic that their home production Paa could do reasonably well business at box office despite its poor start on the first day.
The movie’s first day collections averaged around 40% at multiplexes and 20-25% at single screens.
But the rave reviews by critics (who praised Amitabh Bachchan’s performance) plus the good word of mouth by those who saw ‘Paa’, helped the movie’s collection pick up by Monday. The film’s four-day collections are approximately Rs. 12.75 crores net and by the end of its first week at box office, it is expected to gross around Rs. 17 crore net.
On the other hand, Himesh Reshammiya’s third film as actor Radio did very poor business. The film’s first day figures hovered around the 20% mark.
Meanwhile, Priyadarshan’s comedy De Dana Dan grossed around Rs 6.50 crore net over its second weekend. In its ten-day run, the film has raked in Rs 40.50 crore net.
