Akshay not in the rat race for top spot
With Kambakkht Ishq raking in a whopping Rs.100 crore in the first week, Akshay Kumar – whose stardom had taken a nosedive after his two previous films Chandni Chowk To China and 8x10 Tasveer bombed – is on his way to the top spot again. But Akshay isn’t dying to be the ‘king’ of Bollywood, a tag he was given after Singh Is Kinng .

“…I'm being asked if I'm marching towards the top again. My reply to them is that I'm happy living and dying being where I am and that's anywhere but on top,” Akshay is quoted by a news agency as saying.

The self-effacing superstar says he’s happy entertaining people and likes to see himself as a ‘clown’.

“See, I'm a clown and not a king. Once a clown, always a clown! I belong in the ring, not on the podium,” Akshay said.

Though the movie got severe drubbing from critics, Akshay isn’t holding any grudges. He’s just happy that audiences have stood by him.

“I have faith that my audience will come and prove my work's worth. And this time they surely have and I love them for it,” said the superstar.
