“I am hundred percent Indian,” said Katrina Kaif in a recent interview when asked about her foreign upbringing. The actress is presently in London for a reunion with her mother and six sisters and will celebrate her birthday on July 16 there only.
But next month, she’d fly to Chicago to be part of a special Zee Carnival to celebrate India’s Independence Day on August 15 and 16. The two-day carnival will see participation from many Bollywood stars – the prominent names being Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu, besides others.
Though there would be no performances by any of the stars, the actors would represent India in the carnival and mingle with local fans in Chicago.
Surprisingly, Salman Khan isn’t yet part of the troupe even though his arch rival SRK is.
Which brings us to Katrina’s birthday. After the sour experience last year, when the two Khans fought at her birthday party, Kat has chosen to be in London for her birthday this year. She’s been shooting Priyadarshan’s film De Dana Dan at a frenetic pace just to wrap up her work in time to take a holiday with her family.
