Shahrukh Khan’s moon crater is make-believe!
Shahrukh Khan was flooded with congratulatory messages by his fans from around the world for having a moon crater named after him. But the truth is that no one can have a personalized crater on moon.

As a top daily reports, there is a UN Outer Space Treaty which clearly mentions that no government has the right to claim a celestial resource such as the moon or any planet, since they are common heritage of mankind.

However, there is a company based in New York with the name of International Lunar Geographic Society that sells crater names to people around the globe. The owner of the company Dennis Hope allows people to claim their piece of land on the moon by using his web site. People pay the price for the crater and then they receive a certificate and a picture of the crater they buy.

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) that is in charge of naming the celestial bodies, in fact, denounces Hope’s way of selling and naming moon craters. On the organization’s website it’s mentioned: As an international scientific organization, the IAU dissociates itself entirely from the commercial practice of “selling” fictitious star names or “real estate” on other planets or moons in the Solar System.

So the credibility of the name ‘Shah Rukh Khan Arago B’ crater on the moon is questionable.

Shame on you for repeating lies that appeared elsewhere! A sham reporter made numerous errors in a story and you merely repeated them. The Lunar Geographic Soc. is NOT RELATED to the phony deed mill run by Dennis Hope. The Lunar Geographic Soc. is AS MUCH ENTITLED to designate crater names as IAU is! This is a grand honour for King Khan and no amount of falsehoods can cheapen that honour. Do the needful and print a retraction & correction immediately!!!!
