Dev Patel in Hindi remake of Tamil hit?
Dev Patel may have been rubbing his shoulders with Hollywood glitterati after the multiple Oscar win of Slumdog Millionaire, but that doesn’t stop south director Samuthirakkani from wishing to rope him for the Hindi remake of Tamil movie ‘Nadodigal’.

“We are hopeful of signing him (Dev) up for the lead role in the yet-to-be named Hindi remake of 'Nadodigal'. The Telugu remake will go on the floors next month with Ravi Teja in the lead role and we will start shooting the Kannada remake in December with Puneet in the lead,” Samuthirakkani told reporters.

Samuthirakkani himself will direct all the three versions.

The film tells the story of friendship between three youths. It also stars three actresses.

The Tamil original, released last month, is still running to packed houses down south.

“The total cost of the film was Rs.7.40 crore. According to the distributors, the film is expected to gross more than Rs.30 crore once it completes 100 days,” said Samuthirakkani.

It remains to be seen whether Dev Patel gives his nod to Samuthirakkani.
