About two and a quarter lakh people had seen the film on youtube by Monday evening, bringing smiles to the faces of the people at Studio 18, which has presented the film. On youtube, the film is generating revenue through ads. Viewers in the US have to pay $4.99 to watch it, while the film is free for viewing in the rest of the world, except India.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Chaubey’s film Ishqiya continues to remain steady at the box office after doing a decent business of Rs. 14 crore nett in its first week. Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma’s Rann has turned out to be a big disappointment, making a meagre Rs 6 crore nett in its first week. The film has been declared a flop.
All eyes are now fixed on this week’s release My Name Is Khan, starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. The film is expected to rake in a mammoth opening, and going by the response of the people who’ve seen it at special screenings, the movie has all it takes to emerge a box office hit.
