One may or may not be a fan of Vivek Oberoi the actor, but it’s hard to not be touched by Vivek’s other trait, the social do-gooder. After all, he was the only Bollywood star who put aside his film assignments and went to help the people displaced by tsunami in south India a few years back.
Though cynics would pooh-pooh Vivek’s social endeavours as mere show-off, the actor begs to differ.
“My social welfare endeavours are very much a part of my persona as an individual, a human being and not a projection,” Oberoi is quoted as saying by a news agency.
He said his social work is definitely not aimed at image enhancement.
“My work, whether it is for the mentally challenged or the homeless poor, is what I do with my life as a person and not what I do as an actor,” he said.
Vivek will next be seen playing a savvy thief in the action thriller Prince in March.
