‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ average, ‘Teen Patti’ dull at box office
They had good banners and a good star cast, but what went wrong with Karthik Calling Karthik and Teen Patti? In spite of a long weekend, both the movies failed to do a good first weekend business, failing to impress critics as well as public.

After an opening of 40-45% on the first day, Farhan Akhtar starrer KCK had decent weekend of around Rs 10 crore approx. On Monday, it collected Rs 1.25 crore approx taking its four-day total to Rs 11.25 crore. The film is likely to do Rs 14-16 crore approx business in its first week.

On the other hand, ‘Teen Patti’ managed just Rs 75 lakhs on Monday after opening to a dull 15-20% collection on the first day. The movie managed the business of Rs 3 crore approx from its first four days. A poor response for an Amitabh Bachchan starrer and the future seems dark.

The box office darling continues to be My Name Is Khan. Though the movie’s collection dropped to 60-65% in week two, it managed to make around Rs 17 crore approx in the second week. Now, the two-week total of the movie is around of Rs 63 crore approx. BO verdict - a hit.
