Deepika Padukone says na to Nana

Nana Patekar may be known as a talented actor and an eccentric person, but he had little sway on Deepika Padukone when he recently approached her with an offer to act in a film he’s set to direct.

Well, from what we hear, Nana first met Deepika on the sets of Prakash Jha’s film Raajneeti when she visited to meet her then boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. It was then Nana first tossed to her the idea of his second directorial venture after ‘Prahaar’ which he had directed years ago. Deepika expressed interest but said she would take the final call only after reading the script.

And recently when Nana did approach her with the script, the actress wasn’t really enthused. The buzz is that she suggested a few changes that ticked Nana off. For a seasoned actor like him to get tips from a relative newcomer must have ruffled his ego.

The upshot is that Deepika has turned down the offer and Nana is fuming over the actress’s attitude.

Well, considering how forgettable Nana made Madhuri Dixit look in ‘Prahaar’ in 1991, we’re not surprised by Deepika’s refusal.
