Fashion extravaganza and parties galore

It’s the season of cricketainment once again and the IPL this year is going to be more glamourous than ever before. More than just token appearances by film stars in VIP boxes, IPL 2010 promises an elaborate fashion extravaganza and parties galore exclusively for cricketers and glitterati after every match.

And in charge of it are Bollywood’s power couple Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia. The couple’s company has bagged the contract of conducting 55 fashion shows and as many parties during the IPL season. According to reports, the idea came from Mehr and the IPL chairman Lalit Modi.

Confirming this, Mehr tells a daily, “There will be 55 fashion shows and 55 parties in all.” And many top ramp models like Laxmi Rana, Candice Pinto and Sonalika Sahay have been approached to walk the ramp. While designers for the shows are many, names like Shantanu Nikhil, Manish Malhotra, Rocky S and Anamika Khanna are already on the list.

But this fashion extravaganza is not for the common people; only rich fit the bill.
