Doesn’t bring the house down

Bollywood’s funny man is ready with his second flick, that too with a stellar star cast. This House is Full with three actors and three actresses. Needless to say, Sajid Khan has come up with a full-throttle entertainer.

As the movie holds out a comical promise, are its songs great fun to listen? Shankar Ehsaan Loy along with lyricists Sameer and Amitabh Bhattacharya have come up with sound track of the movie that has eight songs. Aha! Just like the name of the film, the album too is full. Let’s check out whether it’s fulfilling or not!

If it’s the team of Shankar Ehsaan Loy you can’t escape the trademark bubbly, pacy rhythm of their songs. Oh Girl You’re Mine in the voice of Alyssa Mendonsa, Tarun Sagar bears the clear stamp of the music composers. The congo beats make the song a kinda afro-pop, and you will like Tarun’s vocals in the song. This number is the best in the lot.

The words of Papa Jag Jayega resonates of a mistake done in a particular situation. Neeraj Sridhar teams up with Alyssa. Together the duo perks up the zesty, sassy feel of the song. A situational track.

Punjabi singer Mika has carved a niche for himself. Nowadays, when it comes to any bindaas song, no one can sing it better than him. One of Amitabh Bachchan’s greatest hits Apni Toh Jaise Taise gets a Dhanno version for ‘Housefull’ and the music, though not mind blowing, doesn’t disappoints you either. A good rehash of a snappy oldie.

If Sunidhi Chauhan tries to do a Geeta Dutt, singer Shabbir Kumar does a Mohammed Rafi for the song I Don’t Know What To Do. Though it’s a common fashion to do a song with a rustic flavor, every such number doesn’t wow you, like this one. Sounds like a thematic number, Vivienne Pocha impresses with her raspy, unusual vocals in the Loser song.

It’s been eons since we heard of him; DJ Whosane (ex boyfriend of Manisha Koirala) makes an entry for The Housefull remix project. ‘Oh Girl You’re Mine’ remix version does justice to the already popular promo track, while Papa Jag Jayega remix, like the original, doesn’t rouse much interest. I Don’t Know What To Do remix sounds a lil’ better than the original.

Like Sajid’s previous film Heyy Babyy, the ‘Housefull’ album has its musical moments, but the album’s middling score loses tempo later with not-so-memorable songs. And the absence of any melodious track is also a drawback. Only the ‘Oh Girl’ number leaves an impression in your mind.

In a nutshell, ‘Housefull’ songs are not full of beans!

I enjoyed "I dont know what to do" more than any song from this Album.It is the best and also the remix.
