'Prince' brings cheer to box office
A good opening

Critics have passed their verdict, but it’s the box office that determines a movie’s success. Though Prince was severely slammed by critics, it has managed to ensure good footfalls in theatres. The movie collected a good amount of Rs 3.50-3.75 crore on day one: far better than the last few releases.

Over its first weekend, ‘Prince’ recorded Rs 11 crore approx business. The film, as expected, is doing well on single screens, and on multiplexes also it witnessed a good weekend with Sunday better than Saturday. ‘Prince’ is doing very well in UP, Bihar, Orissa and Assam, and might see a good run over its first week.

Coming to the other release Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, it seems the movie will go unnoticed by the audience. In spite of good promotions, the first-day figures were poor for the movie. It reportedly collected near about Rs 50 lakh. However, the weekend was good for the movie and thus it was able to gross Rs 2.25 crore. But with a slow start, the movie won’t be able to gain much in the coming days.

This Friday, it’s Paathshaala and Phoonk 2 for you. Trade pundits, however, are looking forward to the release of Housefull on April 30.
