It’s been raining cats and dogs in Kerala’s Chalakudy jungle, much to the chagrin of the cast and crew of Mani Ratnam’s film Raavana.
Reports say Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are shooting a sequence in which he takes Ash to a jungle after abducting her. But the continuous rain has been wreaking havoc, making it almost impossible for the unit to shoot.
The movie’s shoot reportedly starts early at 5 am in the morning and continues till sunset in the evening. More than Abhishek, it is Ash who has to work hard because she’s shooting for both the Hindi and the Tamil versions of the film simultaneously. Abhishek is only in the Hindi version.
The difficulties are further compounded by the jungle terrain. The big rocks and the slippery ground pose a great danger to the actors who have to run through the thicket for the shoot.
‘Raavana’ is roughly inspired from the Hindu epic ‘Ramayana’, and Abhi plays the villain who abducts Ash because of a grudge he has with her husband, played by south superstar Vikram .
