'Kites' to get grand release in North America

The buzz surrounding the Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori starrer Kites is very strong. Cashing in on the hype, the film’s producer and distributor have decided to give it a grand release in North America.

Reports say the film will be screened in 200 theatres across the US and Canada. That will make it the biggest ever release for any Bollywood film so far.

The action packed romantic thriller is directed by Anurag Basu and has been shot in locations like Las Vegas, Santa Fe and Los Angeles.

On top of it, American filmmaker and music video director Brett Ratner is coming up with his own Remix version of the film which will be shorter (90 minutes only) and will have more action, stunts and no songs, unlike the Hindi film which will have the running time of 130 minutes with five songs included.

‘Kites’ will release worldwide on May 21. But Kites Remix version will release a week later, on May 28, to cash in on the Memorial Day holiday weekend in the US.
