‘I Hate Luv Storys’ written with Imran Khan in mind
While writing his first film I Hate Luv Storys, director Punit Malhotra had just one person in mind and that was the cute and hot Imran Khan who’s never been gung-ho about typical mushy romances of Bollywood.

So getting the same boy as the hero who hates love wasn’t much of a gamble. So, what does Punit now think about Imran? Does he match up to his expectations? While talking to a news agency, Punit reveals that Imran is “simply outstanding.” And also says, “I knew that he would be best for the role and no one else; so there was no confusion about it.”

Bingo! Right role went to the right man. And what about Sonam Kapoor - the pretty, believer-in-love heroine of the film? Well, she was the choice of Puneet’s uncle, designer Manish Malhotra. Puneet thinks she “looks very good with Imran”.

And now as I Hate Luv Storys is ready for release on July 2, Punit is happy with the final product because it has been almost 11 years since he started working as an assistant director under Karan Johar.

Hard work does pay off!
