He knows exactly what his fans expect from him and Himesh Reshammiya seems to have vowed not to disappoint them. If in Karzzzz he did it with ‘vengeance’, he struck the right chord with Radio; now it’s Kajraare with soulful, euphonious songs and dollops of emotions.
With signature style of Himesh, ‘Kajraare’ album starts with an infectious rhythm. Sunidhi Chauhan and Himesh wield the microphone for the first song Kajra Kajra Kajraare which has started catching the fancy of youngsters. And we don’t see the reason why it shouldn’t. The passionate number has hit stamped all over it. The song Party mix, just like the original, is a fun track, apt for the disc consoles that like to play Indian music.
Its’ very easy to get addicted to the beats and tempo of the song Rabba Luck Barsa, Himesh again succeeds as a singer with this captivating number. However, the Party Mix of the song fails to wow us. Another hit! Aafreen is a typical Himesh-style ballad. With the use of the tabla and sitar the song is simple and the influence of classical music and even ghazal can’t be ignored. Himesh again excels as singer-musician with this track.
In a gratifying musical turn comes Tujhe Dekh Ke Armaan Jaage, another soft number sung passionately by Himesh and Shreya Ghosal. The high point of the song is when Himesh starts singing. You are bound to take notice; even his critics can’t snub this. Carrying forward the emotional mood Teriyan Meriyan is a mushy song which Himesh fans are going to love.
Woh Lamha Phir Se Jina can be given a miss; the song is not terrific like others. The disco beats don’t do justice to the song. However, chanteuse Harshdeep Kaur’s lines just lingers. The Party Mix of the song has nothing different to offer.
Himesh again brings ghazal to the album, though Sanu Guzara Zamana is not a proper ghazal, the essence is very Punjabi. The heart-wrenching song sounds like one of the old Punjabi classics. The slow, soft number gets a Lounge remix which has nothing different to offer but is not a bad attempt either; the song is comforting with a mellifluous strain.
‘Kajraare’ is not only about Himesh, the Bhatts are also associated with it. And before the music released, Mahesh Bhatt already announced on Twitter that Kajraare music is “sensational”.
We second him!
