The South film industry swears by her name. She is the irresistible, unstoppable femme fatale Namitha who commands legions of loyal fans willing to build temples in her name.

But Namitha would have remained an anonymous babe had one incident in year 2000 not happened. It’s the incident that inspired her to join films.

Do you want to know who inspired Namitha to be an actress? Believe it or not, it’s the Bollywood babe Priyanka Chopra.

The story starts way back in the year 2000 when Namitha was a participant in the Miss India contest just like Priyanka. Contrary to previous reports that she participated in the year 2001, Namitha claims that she couldn’t win the title in 2000 because of her inability to speak English; so the jury members selected Priyanka to represent India in the Miss World pageant.

That day Namitha decided that not only will she master English but will also join films.
