Bollywood producers better be ready to loosen their purse strings when they approach Shahid Kapur for a film next time. For the actor who has been on cloud nine after the success of his last release Kaminey has reportedly hiked his fee to an equally astronomical sum of Rs. 15 crores.
Reports say producer-director Subhash Ghai recently approached Shahid for a movie and the actor stumped the filmmaker by quoting a mammoth fee.
This must have come as a rude shock to Ghai in whose film Taal Shahid started out as a dance extra about a decade ago. Shahid has also worked in Ghai’s production 36 China Town which helped the actor’s uneventful career turn around.
However, the ever diplomatic Subhash Ghai has told a tabloid that he’s neither approached Shahid for his movie, nor has the actor demanded the said fee.
But it can’t be denied that the success of ‘Kaminey’ has pushed Shahid into a bracket where he apparently feels deserving of much more than he’s been getting paid.
Shahid is presently promoting his next release Dil Bole Hadippa, co-starring Rani Mukherjee. Apart from this he’s doing good friend Ken Ghosh’s film in which he plays a dance superstar. He’ll also be seen playing a teacher in Ahmed Khan’s film Paathshaala.
