She kicked up a controversy by posing in bikini and cozying up to a female model in a lesbian photoshoot for a men’s magazine a few months back. Neetu Chandra, who has surprisingly kept herself away from raunchy roles in films, says she doesn’t believe in whittling her body to size zero.
“I don't believe in size-zero figure. But I believe that the body should be toned in the right way,” Neetu told reporters at the Kolkata Fashion Week during the weekend. At the event, she walked the ramp in an eye-catching dress by Kolkata-based designer Soumitra Mandal.
Neetu added that she alters her look and body weight according to the roles she plays in films.
“I work according to the character of a film and my look is also dependent on the role. In Garam Masala, I had one kind of look. But in Traffic Signal, my look was totally different. I dress up after understanding the little nuances of my character in the film,” says the actress who was also seen playing Abhay Deol’s love interest in last year’s critically acclaimed Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!.
The 30-year-old hottie added that she likes to dress casually in T-shirts and jeans in her day-to-day life.
About size-zero, Neetu is not the only one to express her disapproval. More than once Bipasha Basu has said that women who starve themselves to acquire size-zero figures no longer look attractive. “What’s a woman without her curves?” she had asked rhetorically when speaking about size zero.
