Not every gorgeous belle from south, her talent notwithstanding, manages to make an impact in Bollywood. Namitha tried her luck four years ago but failed miserably. Shriya Saran got a promising debut in Awarapan but was reduced to a mere eye candy in Mission Istanbul.
Now, Trisha Krishnan is eyeing Bollywood and has placed her full confidence in director Priyadarshan who is also her mentor. It was Priyadarshan who launched Trisha’s career down south with the film ‘Leysa Leysa’ a decade ago.
Priyadarshan has promised to give Trisha a solid launch in Bollywood with his film Khatta Meetha in which the south belle is paired with none other than Akshay Kumar.
According to the director, Trisha has a very finely fleshed out role in the movie. She has “two different avatars in the script,” says Priyan. Each character is set in a different time zone.
Unlike Priyan’s previous comedy films where heroines don’t have much to do than to look pretty and dance in songs, ‘Khatta Meetha’ is a family entertainer and will have Trisha in a substantial role.
Trisha says she’s raring to give her best to this project.
