Rishi Kapoor on Ranbir and ‘Wake up Sid’
A performance that speaks

The proud father of Ranbir Kapoor couldn’t stop smiling as he is showered with continuous praises for his son’s stellar performance in the just released Wake Up Sid.

But the evergreen Rishi Kapoor knows that it’s just the start, “Just being a Kapoor was never going to be enough. Ranbir had to show his worth as an actor. I also had Raj Kapoor as father, but it has never been easy for me even till date. For the last 40-odd years, I have been proving myself. The same would always hold good for Ranbir. It’s a never-ending journey.”

By seeing Ranbir’s growth as an actor and how his career is in the ascendant with movies like Saawariya, his first hit Bachna Ae Haseeno and now ‘Wake Up Sid’, Rishi’s “chest is swollen with pride. As a father, I am so excited that my son has been doing so well in his career. This hasn't been an overnight job by him though. He has worked hard to earn it.”

Kapoor senior speaking with experience, says that ultimately its “performance that speaks” and being a star’s son and not a star son is irrelevant.

It’s obvious that Ranbir is making himself count!
