Padma Lakshmi threw a shocker recently when she revealed she’s pregnant with a baby. The news is surprising not so much because she’s keeping the father’s name secret, but because Padma has had a history of endometriosis, which makes it difficult for a woman to conceive a child.

The ‘Top Chef’ host told Usmagazine.com that her tummy has already begun showing and her jeans doesn’t fit her anymore.

“I actually can't button my jeans anymore…Up until about a week ago, I could. There's just too much pressure, so I've had to put them away for now,” she told the website.

The 39-year-old, who has dated Booker winning author Salman Rushdie in the past, has already begun buttering her belly.

“One thing that happens when you're pregnant is that as your stomach starts to stretch and it itches! So I have to keep my belly really lubricated. Every morning, there's a buttering ceremony after I get out of the shower. It's really like basting a turkey with body butter,” she reportedly revealed at a recent event in New York City.

Padma also told People magazine that she would now have dresses of larger fittings in her wardrobe.

“During the course of filming Top Chef, I gained 15 pounds, so I'm used to needing two dress sizes. Now I'll just need three: my fat size, my skinny size and my super size,” she was quoted as saying.
