They’ve never met formally; nor do they know each other. That pretty much sums up why director Siddharth Anand signed Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor as strangers in his next movie Anjaana Anjaani.

If that doesn’t sound strange enough, sample this - Anand wants PC and Ranbir to meet each other only on the first day of the shoot. Now, that’s surprising, but the director is making it sure that both the stars don’t come in direct contact before they start shooting for the film. “I’m hoping Ranbir and Priyanka won’t attend the same parties and come face-to-face before the shoot,” Anand is quoted as saying.

In fact, in order to ensure the element of surprise, Anand is not even conducting workshops for the actors, in spite of the fact that both are the only two main characters in his film. He is quoted as saying, “I wanted the surprise in their introductory scene to be genuine,” and doesn’t want Priyanka and Ranbir to look as rehearsed actors for the film that begins shooting on December 11 and will finish fast by December 31.
