According to a senior police official at Sector 20 police station, Shiney’s stay in Noida is illegal because he stated in his affidavit to the court that he would stay in Delhi after his release from Arthur Road jail. According to the court order, Shiney has to stay away from Mumbai during the course of the trial so that he doesn’t influence the alleged victim.
“It has been mentioned that Shiney has to stay in Delhi. Accordingly, we have asked him to move out of Noida,” A K Singh, SSP of Gautam Budh Nagar, is quoted as saying.
Though just a half-hour drive from Delhi, Noida comes under UP administration. Shiney’s prolonged stay in his father’s Sector 29 apartment could be seen as contempt of court.
The actor will now shift to Delhi where he’s likely to stay at one of the three places - Nizamuddin, Vasant Kunj or Green Park.
Ahuja was arrested in June on charges of raping his domestic help. He spent 110 days in jail before being granted bail by Bombay High Court on October 1. He has claimed that he’s innocent.
