Slated for release this Friday is Anil Kapoor’s third production ‘Short Kut’, starring Akshaye Khanna , Arshad Warsi and Amrita Rao . The film is directed by Neeraj Vora who previously directed ‘Phir Hera Pheri’.

“The film is actually not an out and out comedy...it's got a story and it's dramatic. But I bring in the humour in the film despite the fact that I am the villain and I play a bad guy. Akshaye and Amrita are the hero and heroine in the film,” Arshad is quoted by IANS as saying.

The film is set in Bollywood. It tells the story of two strugglers - Raju (Arshad) and Shekhar (Akshaye). The cunning Raju makes it big as a superstar after stealing a script while Shekhar continues to struggle as a writer-director after his script gets stolen.

Amrita Rao plays an actress Mansi, who marries Shekhar but has to work with Raju in a film to be directed by Shekhar. What follows is fun and goofy comedy.

The movie has Amrita donning revealing outfits for the first time.

“I'm playing an actress in the film. Neeraj Vora wanted to highlight the personal life of an actress through my character...I wanted to do something different with the styling of this character and so the new look,” Amrita is quoted as saying.

Interestingly, the film was initially supposed to star Anil Kapoor in the role played by Akshaye in the film. Akshaye was supposed to play the bad guy. But once Anil decided to only produce the movie and not act in it, Arshad was roped in and there was a shuffling in the cast.
