Shahrukh Khan may not be a master in the combat skills of Taekwondo, still he’s going to have an honorary black belt in the martial art form, thanks to the South Korean embassy in Mumbai that will confer two special honours on the Bollywood star on Thursday.
“The Korean government has decided to confer an honorary belt in taekwondo to Shah Rukh and they are also giving him the title of an honorary ambassador for culture and tourism,” Shahrukh's spokesperson told reporters on Wednesday.
The honour will be conferred on the Bollywood star at the Taj Lands End hotel in Mumbai.
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art form. It combines self defense techniques with combat moves involving the use of fists and kicks.
An honorary black belt in Taekwondo would be the second international honour for SRK this year. In July, he received an honorary doctorate in arts and culture by Bedfordshire University in London for his contribution to art and cinema.
Late last year, he also got the title of ‘Datuk’ from Malaysian government.
