Shahid Kapoor tackles questions at US airport
His valet, a Muslim, was under scanner

After the grilling of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan (which was somewhat hyped by media) at a US airport more than two months back, it was Shahid Kapoor who tackled tough questions from the immigration officials at New York airport recently when his valet, Mohammed Manjoor Allam, came under scanner.

Shahid had been in the US to shoot for Yashraj Films’ yet untitled movie starring Anushka Sharma opposite him.

According to reports, the first leg of the shoot in Philadelphia went without a hitch. But when the unit moved to New York, Shahid’s valet, who is in fact an elderly man, was asked to step aside by immigration officials for further questioning.

For Shahid, his valet, Mohammed Manjoor Allam, is a fatherly figure.

Since Allam isn’t very fluent in English, Shahid chose to sit with him during the interrogation and answered the questions from the immigration officials. Allam was held for about one-and-half hours after which he was given clearance to enter the city.

All through the questioning, Shahid did not let Allam feel isolated.
