Just one hit movie can change equations overnight. Salman Khan, who was reeling under the blows of a series of flops last year, suddenly has his chin up after his Wanted hit the bull’s eye at box office. Even the super disaster of his last release Main Aur Mrs Khanna hasn’t dented Sallu’s revived career.
Now, even as Boney Kapoor plans the ‘Wanted’ sequel, another producer Sajid Nadiadwala has finalized Salman to play the lead role in his next ambitious project which will be a remake of Telugu hit ‘Kick’, starring Teja and Ileana.
It’s learnt that a number of producers from Bollywood were vying to buy the film’s remake rights, but Nadiadwala emerged victorious in the end. The movie is the story of a man who gets a kick out of doing challenging things, be it romancing a pretty babe or stealing from rich people.
The Hindi version of the film will most likely be titled ‘Sanki’ (Eccentric).
Nadiadwala confirms having bought the remake rights of ‘Kick’. He also agrees that he’s looking forward to sign Salman for the film. However, the film’s actress or director is yet to be finalized.
If things go as planned, the movie might roll next year.
