Only his veinous bald pate and slender fingers are visible through the circular hollows of an overturned cardboard box. Yes, the man, or to be precise, the child inside the box is none other than Amitabh Bachchan.
The first look of writer-director R. Balki’s film Paa is quite intriguing. Though a snap from the film’s shoot showing a bald Big B on the sets has already been leaked and seen by many, the first look image, taken from an overhead angle, almost dwarfs the six-plus footer sexagenarian.
In the flick, the superstar plays a 12-year-old child who suffers from Progeria, a rare disorder that causes premature ageing among children. No wonder Big B plays the son of his son Abhishek Bachchan in ‘Paa’. Vidya Balan plays Abhi’s wife.
Big B used a lot of prosthetics to transform into a child in the film. Apart from the elaborate make-up, for which he had to sit for hours, he also wore a special set of dentures that gave his jaw a new look. It also altered his voice and speech. After putting the dentures on, the superstar spoke with a lisp. In fact, he also recorded a song in the child’s voice by using the same set of dentures.
Set for December 4 release, the film has music by Ilayaraaja and is co-produced by AB Corp. Ltd.
