Their romance bloomed while shooting for his film but he was unaware of this fact. Danny Boyle recently admitted that he was surprised to learn about the romance between Freida Pinto and Dev Patel.

As per reports online, Danny says that he had no idea that they would get together. When the director was shooting for Slumdog Millionaire with the couple he barely noticed their chemistry off screen and since both Freida and Dev opened up about their relationship quite late, it seems it was more of a shock for Danny than it it was for the public when they saw the film.

“I was a bit surprised at first, but then those things tend to pass me by... I’m delighted for them, they seem to be real soulmates and I’m sure more than that. I’m very happy for them - it seems lovely,” the director was quoted as saying by a daily.

Well, their romance may have shocked Danny but Anil Kapoor claimed to have seen the sparks flying from the outset.
