When Kiran Rao started to work on her film Dhobi Ghat her main worry was the cast, as she wanted fresh faces who don’t look like glam divas but simple women we see everyday and can relate to. So, who were the lucky females to bag the parts in Dhobi Ghat? Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra.

What’s Monica doing in Dhobi Ghat? This dusky girl plays Shai, a banker in the movie who also loves photography and explores different facets of Mumbai through her camera. She is confident, mature, and sensitive.

What’s Kriti doing in Dhobi Ghat? This simple, tall girl plays Yasmin, a newly-married Muslim woman, who records her life in Mumbai for her brother back home. She’s the woman with whom Aamir Khan develops a special relationship.
