From the start, action has been Ajay Devgan’s forte even though we have seen him in fewer action roles in recent years. With Singham, Ajay hopes to rediscover himself as an action hero.
Eight years after he was last seen in an action film (the flop Qayamat), Ajay Devgan returns to bash up the baddies in director and good friend Rohit Shetty’s film Singham. The movie stars Devgan as a righteous and fearless police officer. His love interest is played by Kajal Aggarwal. The supporting cast comprises of Prakash Raj, Ashok Saraf, Sachin Khedekar and many others.
The film is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster ‘Singam’ from 2010, starring Suriya in the lead role. Since the role demanded a brawnier physique for the hero, Devgan worked on his body before the shoot of Singham.
In the words of the movie’s makers, Singham aims at showcasing “earthy action” with elements of heroism, machoism, idolism and valor.
