When the Tamil ‘Dabangg’ was in the offing, there was tremendous buzz around one thing, who will be the new Munni? The makers of Osthi, the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster Dabangg, decided no one else but Mallika Sherawat is the right choice. And voila! The lady also agreed to do the item song.

Kaslala, the Tamil version of Munni Badnaam Hui, has Mallika Sherawat grooving with the lead actor Silambarasan aka Simbu. In the song, Mallika Sherawat has done some fatal hip moves. If the original Munni, featuring Malaika Arora, had Farah Khan as choreographer, Kaslala is choreographed by Robert, and has music by Thaman. The song also features Sonu Sood. In the song, Mallika’s look is not so different; she is wearing a short ghagra in pink colour.

Mallika Sherawat claims that the Tamil version is more upbeat than Malaika Arora Khan’s Munni, which was a mixture of folk and melody. The setting of the song is also not rustic. It’s said that Mallika is paid a whopping amount for the item song. No wonder, she is called the most expensive item girl in the industry.

The Bollywood actress has done item numbers in Tamil films before. She was seen in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Guru’ (Maiya Maiya) and also Kamal Hassan’s ‘Dasavathaaram’ (Kaa...Karuppanukkum).
