Saif Ali Khan was on Monday morning anointed the new Nawab of Patuadi.
The title has passed on to Saif after the death of his father Mansur Ali Khan in September this year. Mansur Ali Khan was the 9th Nawab of the estate of Pataudi which is in Haryana on the outskirts of Delhi.
Saif was anointed the tenth nawab at Pataudi Palace amidst the presence of his sisters, Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan, his mom Sharmila Tagore and his daughter Sara (from Saif’s marriage to Amrita Singh). The chief guest of the event was the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
A lot of elderly people from nearby villages thronged the venue as the ceremony of rasam pagdi was conducted.
The decision to anoint Saif as the new Nawab was taken a few days back. The anointing comes after the end of the 40 days of mourning for the death of Mansur Ali Khan.
