Freida Pinto doesn’t mind bold scenes

Freida Pinto plays an Indian girl for the second time after Slumdog Millionaire in the British director Michael Winterbottom’s film Trishna.

Trishna, a modern adaptation of Thomas Hardy's famous novel 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles', was screened at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. Freida Pinto, Michael Winterbottom, producer Anurag Kashyap and his wife Kalki Koechlin were at the screening.

Set in Rajasthan, Trishna tells the story of a village girl Trishna (Pinto) who falls in love with a rich man but the class divide becomes too big for the lovers to overcome. Actor Riz Ahmed plays the role of a wealthy young British businessman Jay Singh in the movie opposite Pinto.

The 27-year-old actress also has some intimate scenes with Riz Ahmed in the movie.

Freida Pinto says she doesn’t mind bold scenes as long as they are part of the script.

“I do not take up anything which will embarrass me. The bold scenes were part of the script and I had no problem,” Freida said.
