No dearth of sequels in 2012
Are you tired of Bollywood sequels? Better be not, because the year 2012 brings along with it a horde of sequels. So, now start counting the ‘part-2’ of the hit films which are slated to release this year.

There are approximately not one or two but 20 anticipated sequels of hit films which will either release or go on the floor this year. Not only the sequel of films like Dabangg, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Housefull, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum, Jannat, Ghayal and Race are expected to release this year, the sequels of the movies Ragini MMS, Rock On, No Entry, Tanu Weds Manu, Jism, Krrish and Ishqiya will begin filming.

Yes, that’s why the year 2012 is being touted as the year of sequels in Bollywood. The trend of ‘part-2’ films is going to stay, believe the trade analysts because the success rate of sequels has encouraged a lot of filmmakers. For example, consider the Golmaal series; each part of this franchise never failed to click with the audience. Result: a money-spinning run at the BO.

However, every hit film may not have a sequel, if not for a good script. But do our filmmakers care enough? Most of them apparently want to cash in on the brand name. And, one can’t also deny that the old star cast connects well with the audience. Take a look at the sequels of 2012:
