The sari couture at Apsara Awards 2012! Ooh la la. When it comes to saris, our Bollywood babes hit quite a fashion note. The nine yards of sheer elegance mixed with the sensuousness of an attractive blouse works wonders on any kind of body type. So, be it the voluptuous Vidya Balan or leggy Anushka Sharma, the sari suits all. Yes, at the red carpet of Apsara Awards 2012, we saw some of the beautiful ladies of Bollywood strutting their stuff in designer saris.
Sari on the red carpet! Who wore it better? Was it Vidya, Anushka or Priyanka Chopra? You have seen Vidya Balan umpteen times carrying off a sari, and most of the times she goes for a traditional silk one. But, for Apsara Awards, Vidya, for a change, chose a glitzy sari with golden work. No prizes for guessing it was a Sabyasachi Mukherjee creation, and a similar sari was seen on Aishwarya Rai in 2010 at Cannes when she attended the premiere of her film Raavan there. Though on Ash it looked just fab, on Vidya it looked a bit dull for the red carpet.
Others going 'sari'torial at Apsara Awards were Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Amisha Patel, Sameera Reddy and many other gorgeous ladies. We would especially like to mention Anushka Sharma, who was seen in a sari after eons on the red carpet. The actress also chose a Sabyasachi creation and turned out to be cynosure of all eyes.
