Here’s a confession from an honest fan: Rani Mukherjee is one of the best things that has happened to Bollywood! Today is the birthday of the hazel-eyed Bong Bollywood lady who literally changed the way actresses were looked at!

Though earlier Bollywood was all about the Khans, Roshans and Bachchans, Rani Mukherjee, with her unsurpassed acting skills, showed that actresses too can deliver hits without the need of male biggies! Be it Black, or No One Killed Jessica, Rani knows exactly what she wants from herself!

While Rani has won seven Filmfare awards yet, it would come as a surprise to many that she never wanted to get into acting! It was the constant push by her parents, especially her mother that Rani decided to try her luck as an actress. However, we are not too sure her debut film Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat would have been the kind of beginning she was expecting!

Nevertheless, what followed were a couple of hit movies - Ghulam and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Sadly though, what goes up does come down; after having a dream run in Bollywood in 2004-2006, Rani gave a series of box office duds in the following years!

And then finally in 2009, Rani, who will next be seen in the Aamir Khan starrer Talaash, decided to have a makeover! She donned a bikini in Dil Bole Hadippa and though the movie didn’t receive much appreciation, Rani’s hourglass figure proved that she still has it in her!
