A celebration of womanhood with some of the big projects is a rarity in Bollywood. Kareena Kapoor is already riding high on buzz with her solo release Heroine, her only woman-centric film after Chameli. Naturally, expectations are huge from this Madhur Bhandarkar film, which was earlier being made with Aishwarya Rai. The movie is about a successful actress whose career hits a bad phase.
Rani Mukherjee’s Talaash many be complete, but her Aiyaa will arrive first at the box office. Written by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Sachin Kundalkar, the movie is said to be a quirky love story with the backdrop of a West-South cultural clash. Rani plays Meenaxi in the film and is paired opposite Malayalam actor Prithviraj, who was last seen opposite Aishwarya Rai in Tamil version of Raavan.
Apart from these two promising films, Miss Hawa Hawaii Sridevi is ready with her English Vinglish. Produced by R Balki of Paa fame and directed by his wife Gauri Shinde, English Vinglish is a comeback film for Sridevi after 14-year sabbatical. Sridevi plays a housewife, who enrolls for an English speaking course in order to please her husband and family. English Vinglish releases on September 21, and is certainly going to be a big treat for her fans.
