With Nani, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Sudeep, this S.S Rajamouli film made on a staggering budget of approx Rs 30 crore is indeed riding high on buzz.
The movie did take a little long to make; launched in 2010, it was supposed to release in April 2012, but due to extensive CGI and VFX work the film got delayed and is finally releasing on July 6, this Friday. Starring Nani and Samantha with Sudeep, who is playing a negative role in the film, Eega is most-anticipated film of the season, and interestingly the movie’s hero is a ‘fly’.
According to the producer D. Suresh Babu, Eega is the first flick in the Indian film industry to have about 90 of the total 137 minutes of footage in the form of LAA (Live action animation), and that makes the film very special and unique.
“It’s a never-seen-before in India in which a creature/insect behaving in such a realistic fashion. There are 2,234 shots in the LAA mode and getting the special effects together itself involved in a massive logistics exercise,” Suresh Babu gushes about his magnum opus. The movie is aimed at every age-group, and has songs and romantic scenes featuring the fresh pair Nani and Samantha.
The film is about Nani's unflinching and unwavering love for Samantha. He gets murdered and is reincarnated as a housefly and seeks to avenge his death. The movie is dubbed in Tamil and will release as Naan Ee, while in Malayalam it will release as Eecha.
