Dream sequence!
No more serious roles! Rani Mukerji is up for some fun, and Aiyyaa looks every bit entertaining. Something that Rani has never done and tried before. After a fantabulous trailer of the film, the makers have released the dream sequence Dreamum Wakeuppam starring Rani Mukerji as the heroine of southern masala and south star Prithviraj as her ultimate fantasy man.
Since in the movie Aiyyaa Rani plays a Marathi girl whose heart goes dhak dhak only for a Tamil boy (Prithviraj), she dreams of him all the time, and the tangy song Dreamum Wakeuppam is the result of her wonderful imaginings. The song has all the elements -- latke, jhatke, ooh and aiyyoo -- to strike the right chord with the masses. Moreover, Rani as the naughty girl can let your imagination run wild.
Dreamum Wakeuppam Critical Conditionam is said to be inspired from the south cult classic number from the eighties featuring Kamal Haasan. Not only the song, apparently even the dance has been choreographed keeping Haasan’s number in mind.
However, Rani’s seductress act in the song wasn’t a cakewalk. She is said to have trained extensively for the dance number. In fact, Vaibhavi Merchant, who has choreographed the track, had to research a lot to get the steps rights for the masala number. The song was shot within two days in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City.
The song is laced with Rani Mukerji’s antics. From biting lips to twitching eyebrows, she has done all. Here’s Dreamum Wakeupm for the fans of Rani Mukerji:
