For its anniversary issue the W magazine is celebrating four decades of fashion, scandals, art and beautiful people. The mag has got each aforementioned actress to represent a decade for separate covers. If Keira Knightley scorches the cover in a bold, blonde look for 2000s, Scarlett Johansson is ruling the 1990s with her sensuous gothic look. While Rooney Mara is channeling the 70s’ fashion, Mia Wasikowska looks colourful as the 80s’ girl.
So, who looks most striking in her glam makeover? It has to be Scarlett Johansson with her dark, gothic make-up which is as elusive as exotic. Besides Scarlett, Keira also looks wow sporting blonde hair. She wears a Chanel braided tweed jacket, and luxurious white gold, ruby and diamond earrings. Red lips and dramatic eyes done in a shade of brown give her a hot contemporary get-up for the cover.
Talking to the magazine about various eras, the four stunners reveal their favorites. When asked Keira Knightley what fashion trends of the 2000s she dislikes, the actress says that it would be skinny jeans and micro mini-skirts. “I think skinny jeans and micro-miniskirts are very unfriendly. I’ve been known to wear both, but on some days it seems like they were invented to make you feel bad about yourself,” Keira tells the magazine, and we do agree with her!
Scarlett Johansson talks about her favorite person from the 90s. He is Chris Farley. According to her, he was hilarious -- “He threw his whole body into the parts he played. He’d become red and sweaty and frantic. When he died, it was really significant for me.”
Mia talks about who she feels embodies the 1980s the most: “Madonna. She’s the icon. She’s wholly her own person.”
