Some films cease to be just films. They have so many emotions attached to them, so much labour of love pumped into them, that they become all but legitimate offspring of the creative minds and hearts involved. Yash Chopra’s swansong Jab Tak Hai Jaan is one such creation. It’s not just a film anymore. It’s a cinematic experience beckoning the movie buffs.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan deals with myriad emotions: love, hurt, heartbreak, longing, anger, resentment and redemption.
Shahrukh Khan -- the late Yash Chopra’s favourite actor for the last two decades -- plays the leading role. He’s paired with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film’s storyline is a closely guarded secret, but the promos, the songs, and the poem penned by Aditya Chopra gives a bit of the plot away.
In an interview, Shahrukh Khan has revealed that with Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Yash Chopra wanted to make a simple film about complexities of relationships.
“Yashji wanted to make love stories. He said that we have had enough of these fighting films. I believed in him...... (with Jab Tak Hai Jaan) he said he wanted to make a simple yet complicated film on human relations. It is a very modern interpretation of love. I think love remains the same,” Shahrukh Khan said.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan stars Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh as the parents of the character Shahrukh Khan plays. Similarly, Anupam Kher plays Katrina Kaif’s father.
