King’s Damarukam comes with a bang!
Written and directed by Srinivasa Reddy, Nagarjuna’s film Damarukam is a high-budget, fantasy film, and what makes it a special treat for the audiences is the extensive use of VFX in it. No wonder, Nagarjuna claims Damarukam to be an Indian Avatar.
The movie is riding high on buzz not only because of its visual appeal, but also its story. In the movie, Nagarjuna plays the role of Mallikarjuna and Anushka Shetty does the female lead role. The dubbing artist Ravi Shankar will be seen a role of a supernatural villain. According to the sources, in the movie Nagarjuna falls in love with a girl, who has supernatural powers.
The concept is said to be linked with Lord Shiva -- the destroyer. Being a common man, Nagarjuna will fight supernatural powers in the film. Most of the Southern filmmakers have a fixation with mythological characters and stories, and Damarukam is also on the same lines. To many it may sound like Chiranjeevi’s Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari, but sources claim that Damarukam will be a different and unique experience.
While there are even reports that the basic plot of the film takes it inspiration from the Hollywood flick 2012. The movie also stars Prakash Raj, and has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The album of the movie features ten songs, and got positive response from the listeners.
The makers were first unsure about the release date, but the film will finally hit the theatres on November 23. Trade experts believe that the movie will get a good opening since it is King Nagarjuna’s biggest film till date. Catch some stills of the Damarukam:
