Who’s a cop and who’s a conman? The confusion reigns supreme amidst a lot of promised laughs and slambang stunts in this Friday’s release Khiladi 786, starring Akshay Kumar and Asin in leading roles.
Himesh Reshammiya has got his finger in too many pies in Khiladi 786. He’s written the film’s story, composed its music, sang a song or two, co-produced the film, and even plays an important role in it. Whether that makes one look forward to Khiladi 786 could be debatable, but going by the promos and songs, the film promises a buffet of bone-crunching stunts and a few laughs, all of it seasoned with Reshammiya’s music, some of which has caught on with the youth.
In the film, Akshay Kumar plays a conman pretending as a cop. Himesh Reshammiya plays a matchmaker who’s been a gross failure in making any marital alliances. As a challenge, he takes the task of fixing the match of an underworld don’s Marathi daughter with a fearless Punjabi cop. It all results in a flurry of lies, deception and tomfoolery.
