Two men, two lives, one name
The trailer of the much-awaited Tamil film of the year 2013, David, is out. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, David is a gangster film spliced with dark humour, starring the Tamil star Vikram and the rising star Jiiva.

Bejoy Nambiar released the trailer first on twitter since he believes that his core audience is youth. The first look of the film has also been launched at a press conference where both the stars Vikram and Jiiva along with Bejoy Nambiar were present. David is actually a bilingual film, and Vikram will feature in the Hindi version as well, while the Indo-Canadian actor Vinay Virmani has been roped in for the role of Jiiva.

The trailer of the film introduces both the heroes. If one is the quirky, fun-loving fisherman of Goa, played by Vikram, another character, essayed by Jiiva, is of a young guitarist. Yes, the film narrates two different stories about two men based in two different places, but both are named David. Isha Sharvani and Tabu are also seen in the trailer, and are like wisps of fresh breeze amidst the violent scenes. Isha’s role of a mute girl comes as a pleasant surprise. She looks promising, romancing Vikram.

Vikram says that it’s one of his best roles so far. According to Vikram, the movie is an unconventional take on heroism and his role is very realistic.

The music of the film is composed by a group of music directors like Prashant Pillai (Shaitaan fame), Anirudh Ravichander (‘Kolaveri Di’ fame), Remo, Modern Mafia, Maati Baani and Bramfatura. The film features 12 songs including a new version of the famous qawwali Mast Kalandar.
