A blow-by-blow account of the first day’s shoot was provided by Amitabh Bachchan on his blog. The superstar was filled with apprehension on the first day of filming.
“A day in the life of ‘Satyagraha’, the first day on the shoot .. awkward for the role, the dress, the character, the lines and wonder at each step whether what is being done is right or way beyond wrong ..” the 70-year-old superstar wrote.
“The presence on the set, the activity of busy crew, the enactments of rehearsals, the colleagues, the sound of the instructions for the start, the choking feel before the camera rolls and then … suddenly, from just about no where, the character slips in, surprising yourself at all times on how and where those feelings came from … there is no preparation for it, nothing quite like the rehearsal before … it is different, and it just comes - one of the great mysteries that have plagued me and I am certain plagued others as well ..” Big B wrote.
Satyagraha tackles with a lot of issues. Prakash Jha has said this about his film: “The whole world is in the line of agitation; people are fed up of corruption, inflation, and mal-administration. Amidst these problems, beautiful stories are coming out. By bonding these stories together I am making 'Satyagraha'.”
